ReZoom™
What You Should Know About the ReZoom™ Lens Implant
If you are one of the people who have worn glasses or contacts most of your life, the ReZoom™ intraocular lens (IOL) could offer you increased independence from glasses for the first time! ReZoom™ is one of a new class of revolutionary multifocal lenses that allow you to see better up close, in the distance, and everywhere in between—without glasses!
The Balanced View Optics™ of the ReZoom™ lens allows the lens to match its performance characteristics with your lifestyle. The special optics distribute light over five zones. The zones then focus light on the retina to provide better vision at distance, intermediate, and near. So, if you are in a car looking at a map, it may be possible for you to read the map, the dashboard, and the road signs ahead—all without glasses.
The ReZoom™ lens is a clear, foldable implant made of an acrylic material. The actual procedure to implant the lens is similar to traditional small-incision cataract surgery. Dr. Jay Bansal uses the "no needles, no stitch, no patch" surgery technique, so you are relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure. It takes only a few minutes and is performed as an outpatient procedure.
In clinical testing, approximately 92 percent of patients reported either never or only occasionally needing to wear glasses after the procedure. In most cases, your vision will be restored immediately. However, vision usually continues to improve in the weeks following the procedure.
Remember, all multifocal IOLs have advantages and disadvantages for people with certain lifestyles or eye conditions. A thorough examination is necessary to help determine which type of IOL is right for your eyes and lifestyle. Call 1.800.527.3745 or request a free consultation today.
