WHY CHOOSE LASERVUE &  DR. BOGHOSSIAN FOR LASIK?

Have you ever wondered why there is a wide variation in price for laser vision correction at different Silicon Valley laser centers? When comparing prices, you should carefully consider all aspects of the surgery, such as the pre and post-operative care, the experience of the surgeon, and the technology used. To help you understand the difference, LaserVue Eye Center has developed a set of questions when searching for the right laser center for you.

Who will perform my LASIK surgery?
At some centers, several surgeons perform LASIK surgery. Don’t presume that your surgery will necessarily be performed by an experienced surgeon.
At LaserVue Eye Center in Mountain View Dr. Allen Boghossian, a Cornea and Refractive Surgeon, will perform your procedure. Dr. Boghossian is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellowship trained LASIK Surgeon. He is a member of several professional organizations including American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and International Society of Refractive Surgeons (ISRS).

What % of patients achieved a vision of 20/40 or better, without any re-treatment?
This is an important question. The number of surgeries performed by a surgeon is not as significant as his or her success and enhancement rate. A surgeon's success rate is the percentage of patients who achieved 20/40 or better vision during their initial treatment. The enhancement rate is the percentage of patients who needed to go back for a "second try" to get things right.

100% of Dr. Boghossian’s LASIK patients have achieved 20/40 vision or better (required to pass DMV vision exam) with ZERO re-treatments.

If I am a candidate for LASIK, who will perform my pre and post-operative exams?

It is crucial that your LASIK surgeon performs your complete pre-op eye exam and see your during each post-operative appointment. Seeing an ophthalmologist who is trained to diagnose any medical conditions is vital to the success of your LASIK procedure.

Dr. Boghossian personally performs the comprehensive pre-operative exam. He will discuss the best plan of action for your particular situation and will personally answer all of your questions to your satisfaction. And unlike some centers, he will also personally examine you during your post-op visits. We believe that this extra attention truly makes a difference.

In the future can I see my LASIK surgeon as an ophthalmologist for unrelated medical eye care?
With many LASIK centers this is not a possibility because many LASIK surgeons focus on refractive surgery alone and do not take care of routine eye problems.

Dr. Boghossian is different in this respect as he practices general ophthalmology as well and will be able to properly diagnose and treat your eye conditions. And because he performed your LASIK surgery, he is knowledgeable about your visual history. However, such visits are not covered under your LASIK fee.

Decisions you make about your LASIK team will ultimately determine if you achieve your best possible visual results. Don’t base your decision simply on the price. Your goal is to find a surgeon and center that will provide the most advanced procedure, an honest assessment about your likely outcomes and risks, quality follow-up care, and a fair price.
