Patient's Comments

I have worn glasses since the fourth grade and contact lenses since high school--more than 25 years! When I started work as a flight attendant 12 years ago, I had to switch from RGP lenses to soft lenses, then to glasses because of constant problems with dryness and irritated eyes. Since my laser surgery, dryness and irritation are no longer a problem, at work in flight or at home on the ground! In addition, I have better than 20/20 vision for the first time in my life. I can see road signs and my kids at school performances without squinting, and read lying down in bed without glasses crushing my face or having to prop the book inches from my eyes. The surgery has been everything I hoped for and more.

Doctor's Comments

Barbara has been put through the wringer when it comes to finding something comfortable and functional for her eyes and lifestyle. It is common that most flight attendants cannot wear contact lenses because the air inside the plane is notoriously dry. Having to choose between her career versus her vision, she knew she had to do something drastic to get the best of both worlds. Now she can enjoy her job and not worry about the hassles of dealing with contact lenses and glasses both in flight and on the ground.
