EVO ICL surgery is a great option for many people seeking to see life without glasses and contacts lenses. If you are interested in a vision solution that will reduce the hassle and ongoing cost of glasses and contacts, the EVO ICL may be right for you. At LaserVue Eye Center, we are proud to offer the EVO ICL procedure and Dr. Jay Bansal is one of the most experienced EVO ICL surgeons in the San Francisco Bay Area. Though LASIK has more name recognition, the EVO ICL is a great solution for patients who have thin corneas, dry eyes, and/or high levels of nearsightedness.
If you’re nearsighted or have astigmatism, EVO ICL might be your solution to glasses-free living! LASIK has become synonymous with those who choose to undergo vision correction. However, EVO ICL technology has broadened the scope of those who qualify; even the very high prescriptions. EVO ICL could be the vision correction option you’ve been waiting for!
The EVO ICL is like an implantable contact lens used to correct vision in those who are nearsighted or have nearsightedness and astigmatism.
This ICL is a small, flexible lens that is added in the eye to improve vision both day and night by altering the eye’s focusing power. The ICL is placed in front of the natural lens of the eye and works by bending light as it enters the eye, allowing the retina to focus the image more accurately.
Dr. Jay Bansal has dedicated the mission of his San Francisco eye center to providing the best choices for vision correction. This is why our clinic offers multiple vision correction options, not just LASIK eye surgery. LASIK is a great procedure but sometimes the EVO ICL is actually the better procedure. You deserve an eye doctor who can customize your vision correction by providing more than one option and one technology to achieve your personal best vision.
Determining that you are a good candidate for any procedure will ensure you have the best results. At LaserVue we will do a through eye exam to determine if you are a good candidate for the EVO ICL.
A good candidate for the EVO ICL is someone that is…
The best way to determine if you are a candidate is to schedule a consultation at one of our three locations.
Patients right after the EVO ICL procedure experience an immediate vision improvement. Many of patients are able to go back to work and resume most of their normal activities the next day. Normally, there are one day, one week, and one month post-operative visits. Steroid and antibiotic drops are usually prescribed for 2–4 weeks after surgery. It is essential that you follow all the instructions given to you by our eye doctors. Many patients are able to go back to work and resume most of their normal activities within days after the procedure. The procedure typically takes less than 15 minutes for each eye.
It’s best to avoid any strenuous activities like heavy lifting or exercises. If you notice any dramatic changes in your vision, call your eye doctor at LaserVue Eye Center immediately.
Your eye doctor will want to see you the day after your procedure to ensure that your eye is beginning to heal properly and that your vision has improved or is improving. In addition to the day after your procedure, your eye doctor will want to see you periodically within the next weeks to months to monitor the healing progress of your eyes.
